Faith No More photos from 1987

Here are the photos John put up of Faith No More at Sidney's house in 1987. I'm not totally sure on the details of this show, but I think what happened was Sidney Fontenot booked Faith No More to play at a place in Lafayette called Pappa P's way out on Johnston across from Giles. Then something happened where the show couldn't be held there, he couldn't find anywhere else in time, and they had to play at his mom's house. At least that's what I've been told. I'm sure Morrow, Jenkins, Chris, or Margaret can clarify. Anyway, it must have been a killer show. The last photo is from New Orleans. From the looks of it, I would wager that it was at Howlin' Wolf.

I don't know, but I like their rental moving/tour van. They look like some dirty bastards in some of those photos. Ahh, the good old days of dirty roadtrips.

I think Ms. Sally would have charged you admission to your own house if she thought she could get away with it. That was one tough lady. Maybe pay toilets where you're charged on a per turd / per pint o' piss basis....wait I'll have to pass that idea along to Shannon from Shanahan's.

I think that Faith No More pic is from Storyville on Decatur. Storyville later became Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville. Thank god Jimmy brought the ancient and beloved culture of parrot hats, cheeseburgers in paradise, and Key West to NO. I dont think NO would have been able to continue on without it. Anyway, FNM opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers or New Model Army.

Oh yeah, FNM defenitely at Sidneys moms house. I think Slash records later had a Sidney Fontenot day at the office for several years running.

It must have been New Model Army. John has a photo of them up too. I think NOLA can do without the fucking parrot hats, but they could probably use the cheeseburgers in paradise. CALLING JIMMY BUFFETT: please atone for your parrot hat bringing sins by donating several thousand cheeseburgers w/ paradise to the people of New Orleans. In return, we promise to stop making fun of you all the time and changing the station every time one of your songs comes on.

Sidney Fontenot Day. . . HooZaa. . . they must have not known. . . Sidney. . . very well. . . Oh well. . . just goes to show. . . you never can tell. . .

And I don't care if Jimmy donates. . . a million cheese-burgers to N.O. . . . I'll still change the channel when his songs come on the radio. . . But luckily. . . they don't play Buffet songs. . . in the UK. . . but if they did. . .

Yes. . . a Buffet. . . free world. . . one of the perks of living in the UK. . . or traveling Europe. . . However. . . we get bombarded by boy and girl bands. . . purely fabricated for. . . Pop stardom. . . and Euro disco sucks. . . the big one. . .

I guess wherever you go, the masses are still going to listen to horseshit. Goddamn proles. And tell 'em to stop sending Coldplay over here. They can send them to Germany to tour with Hasselhoff.

Yeah, it's cool to see that they were actually willing to play in someone's living room. (Punk rock roots before MTV ruined them.)

I remember this! One of the first shows I saw as a teen... was supposed to be at a place called poppa t’s but something happened and moved to Sidney’s house. I was so close to the singer and remembered thinking he stunk so bad. Good memories!
